Pulau Semakau Trip.

"4 a.m. waking up in the morning,
Gotta be fresh, gotta cab to school"

Teehee, well, waking up super early in the morning was worth it. The boat ride was kinda awesome, though some of them were seasick. Hehe. But still, we did enjoy the ride. ;) It's been a long time since I had a boat ride anyway. Well, that was also the time where we could have some sleep.

Really loved the scenery there. Really loved the wind. We had to walk on this road and had to somwhow hiked through this forest (issit? hahaha) to get to the coastal area. It was kinda long, but a long the way, my eyes were really glued to the beatiful scenery there. The sun. The sea. The sky. Everything.

Once we've reached to the coastal area, I was surprised to see different kinds of living things there. Yes, it was really a great experience for me. The picture up there is one of the living things there, the mangrove tree.

And there were so many of this kind of sponges there. The moment I heard of these sponges, I thought of Spongebob Squarepants. Hahahaha k no, I know that's lame. Heehee.

AND YAY! That's Patrick Star! Hahahah k no, that's just a starfish. Hehe. Well, that's the most interesting to me. Seeing what's underneath that starfish made me feel how unique these creatures are. ;)

Definitely I've learnt a lot from this trip. About the different marine lives, and also this made a few of our classmates to bond. Hehe. And well definitely I did enjoy this trip. :> Thank you so much Ms Ee & Ms Xu. :D

Pulau Semakau

I find it very interesting and rewarding as I had learnt alot from this trip and saw creatures that we are not able to see in Singapore. I saw alot of amazing creatures like the starfish and had learnt alot more about their habitats and their way of living. I find it a more enriching experience compare to sitting down in the classroom.. I also learnt that we should reduce, reuse and recycle so that we can extent the use of this landfill and reduce global warming as by burning the rubbish, carbon dioxide is being produce.

Trip to pulau semakau.

On that day, although we had to wake up very early to assemble, i really enjoyed this trip. Through this field trip, i learnt that Singaporeans produce alot of rubbish daily that harms the environment. These rubbish are mostly sent to the Semakau island and then burnt and burried. If we continue producing excessive rubbish, the marine life be in danger. We got to touch and see the magnificent creatures of semakau island for the first time. Like touching the starfishes, sea cucumber.

Overall it was a fun and enriching experience. (:

Pulau Semakau inter-tidal walk

This trip was fun. Although its quite early, but i don't think i regret it as im able to see lots of different types of marine life there. Some of animals, or maybe mostly, i did not have even seen it. The trip at the 'bench' was cool. We were able to get very close, and even touch the marine life there.
Found out that we, humans produced lots of rubbish. Most of the land in Pulau Semakau are now filled with rubbish below land. In just a 8 minutes video clip, im able to learn alot of things. I think its time we start to do the 4 main ways to produce lesser rubbish so as to extent the time taken for the landfill to be filled up.
Its quite a good experience, we are able to learn stuffs even when we are not in the classroom. I think its better if we were able to experience or see it by ourselves, rather than sitting down in the classroom, learning from what the teachers were saying.
Overall, the trip was COOL and FUN! Should have more of this type of 'outing' , but it would be better if the time could be later. Cos i wanna sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

Jiayi.

Sorry, no pictures posted. ):

Pulas Semakau InterTidal Walk

This trip to Pulau Semakau was really an eye-opener for me. it allowed me to discover the many different types of aquatic lives, even those that i didnt know it existed. Also, it made me realise how much waste Singapore has been producing, which to me i think is ALOT. So this trip made me realized how important it is to actually use the 3Rs.

Pulau Semakau Inter-tidal Walk 2011

For me, this trip was a first in many ways. Not only the extremely early wake-up time (still a first), but more to the side of education. In the island, we learnt many interesting things about Singapore's waste management system and also saw countless marine life, small and large, all were there.
My knowledge before and after the trip is a world of difference to me. All of us departed the island with more then when we first stepped on its shores. Although the general public may brush aside these facts, it is important that Singapore learns to control is waste output, we cannot just keep repurposing such islands to dump ash.
Also, the variety of aquatic life is huge. Our short walk on the inter-tidal areas proved just that, seeing many starfish, sea cucumbers and other organisms, we were amazed at the number of species that such a small island could contain.
In conclusion, this trip was a visual and mental treat for me, a feast for the eyes and a bite for the brain.
